FEEDING BABIES: STARTING SOLID FOODS
This Rise course provides a highly interactive learning experience where participants are guided to learn how to introduce solids to their little ones.
Target audience: Mothers with little babies
Tools used: Articulate Rise, PowerPoint, Storyline
Development time: 12 hours
Context
As a mom who loves to help people, I am often asked by my friends who are becoming parents for the first time how they should take care of their little ones. One topic that comes up a lot is introducing solid foods to babies. So I decided to create an eLearning course on introducing solid foods to babies.
Design Rationale
Multimodal Learning
Multimodality can make learning more engaging and enjoyable. This course employs different modalities, such as texts, images, and videos to create different sensory experiences into the learning process, making the material more interesting and memorable.

Interactive Learning
Adults learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process, rather than being passive recipients of information. So this course includes a variety of interactive activities to engage learners.

Design with Empathy
Rise
I built this course in Rise because it is highly responsive on a variety of devices. Mobile phones and tablets are more portable and convenient compared to computers, making it easier for the target audience, mothers, to use them while taking care of their baby. They can be used while holding the baby, breastfeeding or feeding, or while the baby is sleeping nearby.

Supplemental Resources
Main takeaways are provided in the course for the target audience to grasp the key information. Checklists are provided for the target audience to save conveniently. Additional videos are provided to the target audience for inspiration.
